Shaping The Future of Composting:
The Road to 2013

6th-7th December 2006 - Hilton Brighton Metropole Hotel

2013 is a key date for everyone involved in composting. It might seem like it's in the distant future but in order for you to achieve your golas then you need to have the ground work in place now. On the way to 2013 there will be opportunities and threats for you to deal with and how it's how you manage these that will determine whether you will be successful in 2013. This  conference is your guide to meeting challenges of 2013.

With interim targets to be achieved on the way to 2013 and major changes in the road ahead, the composting industry faces a period of unprecedented transformation, uncertainty and possibility. This year's annual conference has been designed to guide you and your organisation through these changes and to help you make the most of the options available to you.

These changes represent a real opportunity to improve the standard of composting across the UK but it will certainly not be easy. That is why we've put a lot of time into planning this conference. Your time is precious and limited but this is your chance to step back and take a moment to consider the longer term with like-minded people.

Agrivert has been recycling organic waste for the past 12 years and has developed a market leadership position within the composting industry. Agrivert recycle large volumes of organic waste each year and are in the unique position in being able to offer a complete service which includes the Design, Build and Operation of In-Vessel systems as well as Recycling the finished product.

Agrivert offer an In-Vessel dual tunnel batch system. The system has been processing 650,000 tonnes of organic waste per annum in 30 plants across Europe for the last 10 years. The technology has proven to be robust both in its physical structure and process, producing sanitised, stable, odourless product fit for many different markets. The design, monitoring systems and method is fully compatible with the requirements of ABPR.

The process essentially allows nature to do the work. Computers regulate the temperature and oxygen availability to control the process and ensure the optimum conditions exist for both sanitation, stabilisation and effective composting.

The technology allows enormous flexibility. Plants can be designed to process almost any volume of waste with diverse intake of waste streams. Kerbside collected Green Waste, Kitchen waste and Cardboard can all be processed and the system is robust in relation to contaminants.

Odour is controlled in the reception building by a natural biofilter system whilst all emissions from the composting tunnels are very effectively controlled by the GoreTex membrane which is permeable to water but impermeable to odour and bioaerosols. The system is also suitable for the biological process of MBT plants and is used with great success in many plants.

Agrivert has recently designed and built and now operate the a 30,000 tonne In-Vessel plant on behalf of LondonWaste.  The facility was constructed in just five months and was fully operational and fully SVS certified within three months of opening.

Agrivert also provided a Sealed Surface product for the construction of waste handling facilities including composting pads. The surfaces are designed to comply with Environment Agency Standards.
